Wellness Communications will acquire SMS's stress-check business. The acquisition is scheduled for 1 December 2026, with most recent sales of ¥179 million and the purchase price undisclosed. The transaction will take the form of Wellness Communications acquiring all shares in the newly established Stress Check company.
Wellness Communications, which provides corporate health-management services, will acquire SMS's stress-check business to strengthen its mental-health measures. The business includes outsourced administration of stress checks required under the Industrial Safety and Health Act, as well as the provision of an online examination system.
The scheduled acquisition date is 1 December 2026, and the purchase price is undisclosed. SMS will separate the business into a newly established company, Stress Check, based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, and Wellness Communications will acquire all of its shares.
The business's most recent sales were ¥179 million (FY ended March 2026). Strengthening the business base in anticipation of future expansion of the system and growing corporate demand for mental-health measures was cited as the purpose of the transaction.
