Sony has officially announced 3 new party speakers in the ULT POWER SOUND series overseas: the ULT TOWER MAX (SRS-ULT3000), ULT TOWER 7 (SRS-ULT700) and ULT TOWER 5 (SRS-ULT500). In the North American market, the MAX is priced at $1,499.99, the TOWER 7 at $649.99 and the TOWER 5 at $449.99, with all 3 models scheduled to launch in September.
All 3 models support multiple input methods, including Bluetooth, LINE 1, LINE 2, USB-A and USB-C, offering a wide range of connectivity options. USB-C connectivity is unusual for Sony wireless speakers. For music playback, each model has 2 microphone/guitar inputs, allowing instruments to be connected and played alongside an audio source.
The ULT TOWER MAX is an ultra-large speaker with no built-in battery and operates on AC power. It has 3 large woofers measuring approximately 280 mm × 280 mm, along with 4 tweeters and 2 midrange drivers for immersive sound. At approximately 56.3 kg, however, it is relatively large for general consumers.
The ULT TOWER 7 is a large speaker with a built-in battery, offering up to approximately 30 hours of playback. It supports fast charging, providing up to 3 hours of music playback after 10 minutes of charging. It has 1 large woofer measuring approximately 280 mm × 280 mm and weighs approximately 22.8 kg.
The ULT TOWER 5 is a medium-sized speaker with a built-in battery and up to approximately 20 hours of playback. The TOWER 5 also has a large woofer measuring approximately 230 mm × 230 mm, along with 2 tweeters and 2 midrange drivers for immersive sound. Weighing approximately 12.7 kg, it is positioned as the most consumer-oriented of the 3 models.
A teaser for the ULA POWER SOUND series has also been published in Japan, suggesting an announcement date of 2 September 2026 Japan time, in line with North America. No specific information on a simultaneous announcement is currently available, and further details are awaited.
