Best Buy’s fiscal 2027 second-quarter results showed revenue and EPS improving ahead of market expectations, supported by comparable-store sales growth. The company also reported an upward revision to its quarterly outlook for the second half and the impact of tariff refunds.
Best Buy reported fiscal 2027 second-quarter revenue of $9.779 billion, up approximately 3.6% year on year, and diluted EPS of $1.48. Comparable-store sales increased 4.1%. Growth in domestic categories, expansion of its marketplace and advertising businesses, and approximately $34 million in tariff refunds contributed to the improvement in margins.
GAAP earnings increased significantly, while adjusted diluted EPS was $1.47. Risks remain, including weakness in the international business and lower product margins, but management raised its full-year revenue outlook and guidance for its four key metrics.
By business segment, U.S. revenue increased mainly on comparable-store sales growth, supported by higher online sales. Meanwhile, the international segment saw declines in revenue and adjusted operating income, partially offsetting overall earnings growth.
Domestic margins improved due to growth in the marketplace and Best Buy Ads and the benefit of tariff refunds, but higher personnel expenses, including incentive compensation, and increased advertising expenses drove costs higher.
