日本豆乳協会 held a press briefing in Marunouchi and outlined plans to expand soymilk's use as an ingredient and develop overseas markets. Shipment volume for fiscal 2025 reached a record high, and the association will pursue measures to strengthen education and awareness activities.
日本豆乳協会 held a press briefing at Marunouchi Building on 10 September, explaining measures related to Soymilk Day (12 October) as part of its awareness activities for fiscal 2026, as well as the future initiatives of its member companies. Chair Yamazaki Koichi (山崎 孝一) said the soymilk market had grown over the past 25 years and expressed the outlook that it would expand further by 2050. He also said he wanted to double production volume despite the contraction over the past 2–3 years. Shipment volume reached a record 444,552 kl in 2025, and the association said levels in the current period have continued to exceed those of the previous year.
As part of its efforts to expand the market, the association highlighted the broader use of soymilk as an ingredient, moving from “soymilk to drink” to “soymilk to eat,” and said it aims to pursue a national initiative to position Japanese soymilk as a global drink in the future. It also indicated its intention to accelerate the product’s adoption through school meals and regional partnerships.
