DAIFUKU announced that it had achieved the highest rank, 3 stars and 6 additional-credit items, under the Shiga Biodiversity Initiatives Certification System operated by Shiga Prefecture. The 6 additional-credit items are the most among certified companies.
DAIFUKU achieved 3 stars and 6 additional-credit items, the highest of the system’s 3 rating levels, under the Shiga Biodiversity Initiatives Certification System, which was launched in fiscal 2018. The system evaluates biodiversity conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources. Stars are awarded according to initiatives in 4 areas: management, biodiversity, climate change and the circular economy, while additional points are awarded for up to 10 items.
A total of 69 businesses have been certified to date, of which 59 have achieved 3 stars. DAIFUKU received 6 additional-credit items, the highest number among the certified businesses, most of which received 4 or fewer. DAIFUKU has established Environmental Vision 2050, which identifies “coexistence with nature” as a priority area, and is working to conserve biodiversity at its sites in Japan and overseas.
The company said it will continue to promote biodiversity conservation through its business activities and emphasized its commitment to contributing to the conservation of Shiga Prefecture’s natural environment and the realization of a sustainable society.
