JPI will hold a seminar on 4 November 2026 featuring Yoshimi Okada (岡田佳巳), a fellow at Chiyoda Corporation. The seminar will explain the latest developments in the commercialisation of an LOHC-MCH hydrogen supply chain and direct production and direct-use technology, and will be offered in-person, via live streaming and via on-demand streaming.
The Japan Planning Institute (JPI) will hold a seminar on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, featuring Yoshimi Okada (岡田佳巳), a fellow at Chiyoda Corporation, as the lecturer. The seminar will introduce the latest developments in the commercialisation of a hydrogen supply chain using the LOHC-MCH process and related technologies. Participants may attend in person, via live streaming or via on-demand streaming.
The LOHC-MCH process is said to be characterised by its ability to provide long-life catalysts without requiring catalyst regeneration or additives, enabling the inexpensive continuous supply of hydrogen. MCH can also be used for national stockpiles and is said to be capable of serving small and medium-sized demand by using existing infrastructure. Future developments are expected to include technologies that eliminate the need to produce hydrogen and technologies that use MCH directly in fuel cells. The lecturer, Yoshimi Okada (岡田佳巳), has led the development of dehydrogenation catalysts since 2002.
The seminar is scheduled to cover a broad range of topics, including trends in hydrogen energy carriers and the status of development toward commercialisation. The Japan Planning Institute, which is hosting the seminar, says it will continue accepting applications for on-demand streaming after the seminar ends.
