A crystal tree approximately 10 m tall has been illuminated in the garden of the Hakone Venetian Glass Museum. To mark the museum's 30th anniversary, a Night Museum will also be held, with the museum open until 19:00 on 10 designated days from November through December.
The Hakone Venetian Glass Museum began illuminating the giant Christmas tree “Abete (fir tree)” installed in its garden on 1 November. The tree is approximately 10 m tall and made with approximately 150,000 pieces of crystal glass. Visitors can enjoy the sight of its lights against the autumn foliage and clear winter skies.
To mark its 30th anniversary, the museum will hold a “Night Museum” on 10 designated days in total from November through December, extending its opening hours until 19:00. Visitors can enjoy the forest after sunset and the tree reflected on the water at night.
On special Christmas night-opening days, activities will also be available for visitors. Venetian masks and capes will be provided free of charge from 17:00 until closing. Visitors can take in a panoramic view of the tree from the terrace while enjoying an elegant atmosphere.
