GSアライアンス joins UNIDO's green industrial recovery project for Ukraine. In cooperation with a Ukrainian partner company, it is conducting a feasibility study aimed at demonstrating biodegradable plastics.
GSアライアンス株式会社 announced that it had been selected for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization's (UNIDO) Green Industrial Recovery Project in Ukraine through technology transfer from Japanese companies. The project aims to support Ukraine's industrial recovery and the development of an innovation ecosystem through technology transfer and human resource development between the Ukrainian and Japanese private sectors.
The feasibility study for the project was signed on 30 September 2025. In cooperation with Ukrainian partner company TETRAVION K Ltd., the study will examine the production of plant-based, biodegradable plastics using biomass waste, including agricultural residues from Ukraine, as a partial feedstock. The company will participate as a grant recipient.
Research and development will be conducted in Ukraine. In addition to visiting its Ukrainian partner company, GSアライアンス visited an affiliated company that manufactures biodegradable resin film. The parties proceeded with discussions on selecting candidate sites for a future production plant, assessing the availability of food and biomass resources, and planning testing procedures.
As the next step, provided the specified conditions are met, the project is expected to move to the pilot technology demonstration phase, where prototype resin pellets and injection-molded products using biomass sourced in Ukraine will be produced. Production of the first prototypes began on 17 August 2026.
