JMホールディングス announced an earnings revision after market close on 3 September, cutting its forecast for consolidated ordinary profit for the fiscal year ending July 2026 from the previous forecast of ¥11.0 billion to ¥9.1 billion. Consolidated ordinary profit was ¥10.1 billion in the same period of the previous year.
The full-year forecast for second-half consolidated ordinary profit was also lowered from ¥5.29 billion to ¥3.39 billion, with profit now expected to decline 33.4% year on year. Net sales are expected to increase from the initial forecast, but earnings are expected to fall short of the original projection.
The company explained that its gross profit margin is expected to decline as procurement prices rise. While taking into account stable sales at existing stores and contributions from new store openings, it plans to continue passing higher costs on to customers while closely monitoring competitors and market conditions. It also expects net profit attributable to owners of the parent to fall short of the initial forecast because of an anticipated extraordinary loss.
