THE BEE will be staged at Honda Theater in the autumn as a NODA・MAP special production, returning to the venue after 40 years. It will be revived with a new cast of 4.
In autumn 2026, THE BEE will be staged as a NODA・MAP special production, with Noda Hideki (野田 秀樹) responsible for both the Japanese and English scripts. The production will take place at Honda Theater and feature 4 actors, Takahashi Issei (高橋 一生), Nikaido Fumi (二階堂 ふみ), Kawachi Yamato (河内 大和) and Kawahira Jiei (川平 慈英), in a new version based on previous stagings.
The work is based on Yasutaka Tsutsui's (筒井 康隆) “Mushiri-ai,” with Noda Hideki (野田 秀樹) also handling the English script. While drawing on the direction of the previous production, this staging assigns central roles, including the role of the well, to new cast members. A distinctive feature is the format in which the 4 actors switch between multiple roles.
Performances will run from 2 November to 6 December 2026. The venue is Honda Theater, and tickets are reserved seating with tax included, priced at ¥9,900 for S seats and ¥5,000 for U25 seats (for those aged 25 or under). Sales will begin at 10:00 on 18 October 2026, with sales outlets requiring advance registration listed.
