Zensho Holdings’ results for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027 showed revenue up 16.8% year on year to ¥32,488 million and quarterly net profit up 89.2% to ¥15.172 billion. The company achieved higher revenue and earnings, driven by strong performance in the Global Sukiya and Hama Sushi segments.
While restaurant and retail stocks were generally weak in the Tokyo market, Zensho released its results for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, reporting substantial double-digit growth in revenue, operating profit, ordinary profit and net profit. The company also revised its full-year forecasts on the same day as the earnings announcement, indicating a positive trend in its outlook for fiscal 2027.
Revenue for the quarter rose sharply to ¥324.808 billion (+16.8% year on year), operating profit to ¥24.815 billion (+57.5%), ordinary profit to ¥23.762 billion (+52.6%), and quarterly net profit to ¥15.172 billion (+89.2%). Accordingly, the full-year forecasts were revised upward to revenue of ¥1.402 trillion, operating profit of ¥102.0 billion, ordinary profit of ¥94.6 billion and net profit of ¥54.0 billion.
The reasons cited for the revision were steady performance in the Global Sukiya and Global Hama Sushi segments, as well as rice prices remaining below the levels initially forecast. The company is reportedly forecasting an annual dividend of ¥80 per share.
The report also notes that market conditions are expected to remain uncertain and says attention should be paid to external factors, including foreign-exchange movements and geopolitical risks, to which the company is susceptible.
