Tokai Kisen has launched a special-discount round-trip ticket for residents of the Izu Islands. The offer covers round trips to Tokyo from Oshima and other islands, as well as round trips from Oshima to Atami and Ito, and can be used for departures from 6 November through returns on 31 January of the following year.
Tokai Kisen announced the Island Resident Special Discount Round-Trip Ticket, primarily for residents of the Izu Islands. Three plans are available: round trips from islands including Oshima, Niijima, Kozushima, Miyakejima and Hachijojima to Tokyo, and round trips from Oshima to Atami and Ito.
The first plan is a round trip by large passenger vessel from an island to Tokyo and back. The fare for a second-class Japanese-style round trip from Oshima is ¥7,500; the return leg is priced at ¥9,000 for special second class to ¥11,000 for first class. Fares vary by island, with Kozushima, Miyakejima and Hachijojima starting in the ¥10,500–¥13,000 range.
The second plan combines a high-speed jet vessel from Oshima to Tokyo with a large passenger vessel for the return trip. Round trips from Oshima to Tokyo start in the ¥9,000 range, while trips returning from Tokyo to Kozushima start in the ¥11,000 range. Separate reservations are required for segments between Kozushima, Shikinejima, Niijima and Toshima.
The third plan is a round trip on the Oshima–Atami or Ito route, using high-speed jet vessels in both directions. The fare is ¥7,500 for Oshima–Atami and ¥6,500 for Oshima–Ito for adults. Ito calls operate only on weekends and holidays. The ticket is valid for up to 7 days from the departure date, and reservations are accepted from 2 months before the departure date through the day before departure.
