ほぼ日 closed back in the ¥5,000 range for the first time in 6.5 years and raised its earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending August 2026. Strong orders and a change in the status of its U.S. subsidiary were cited as catalysts for the share-price improvement.
Following an announcement after the market close on the 18th, ほぼ日 shares rose ¥680 from the previous day to ¥5,200, returning to the ¥5,000 range for the first time in 6.5 years. The shares closed at ¥5,200.
The company announced that it expects to raise its full-year operating profit forecast from ¥68 million to ¥166 million, an increase of approximately 73.1% year on year.
The upward revision was attributed in part to domestic and overseas orders for the Hobonichi Techo 2027 planner, which went on sale in July, substantially exceeding expectations.
The company also disclosed plans to transition to consolidated financial statements after its U.S. subsidiary, Hobonichi Inc, becomes a specified subsidiary. Consolidated operating profit for the fiscal year ending August 2026 is expected to be approximately ¥111.4 million.
