As demand for small-lot cross-border e-commerce shipments grows, BIAC's Osaka District Chapter visited the ZenGroup Kusune Logistics Center. The visit covered the logistics processes from receiving and inspection through storage and management, packing, and overseas shipping.
Against the backdrop of the expanding cross-border e-commerce market and growing demand for international air cargo, BIAC's Osaka District Chapter was to visit the Kusune Logistics Center operated by ZenGroup. The purpose of the visit was to understand the logistics processes for cross-border e-commerce, centered on small-lot shipments, and the initiatives supporting safe transportation.
The visit covered the full range of operations for products handled by ZenGroup, including those sold through ZenMarket, from receiving and inspection through storage and management, packing, and overseas shipping. Participants confirmed the specific workflow supporting international deliveries for cross-border e-commerce. After the visit, the participants exchanged views on topics including safety management and responses to customs clearance and transport regulations.
BIAC Osaka District Chapter representatives highly praised the care taken in handling a diverse range of products and the packing techniques used to prevent damage in transit, and observed the people and systems supporting quality and safety. In cross-border e-commerce, it is important to properly check for prohibited items and dangerous goods, and ZenGroup's controls at the upstream stage also received positive recognition.
Going forward, ZenGroup has indicated that it will promote in-house operations and the use of proprietary systems while responding to the diversification of international shipping routes and changes in regulations in each country, with the aim of ensuring quality and safety and improving shipping efficiency. BIAC has stressed the importance of safety and legal compliance.
