Shionogi was the top positive contributor, lifting the Nikkei 225 Average by ¥3.82, followed by Daiichi Sankyo at ¥3.77, Sumitomo Pharma at ¥1.32, ITOCHU at ¥1.26 and Kioxia at ¥0.94.
All 33 sectors declined. Nonferrous metals posted the largest decline, followed by glass and ceramics products, transportation equipment, electric appliances, services and machinery.
