Manbo, an underwater restaurant in Yobukocho, Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, will undergo a full renovation aboard a new restaurant boat and reopen on Monday, 16 November 2026. The windows in the underwater dining area are scheduled to be expanded to approximately 3 times their previous size.
Known as Japan's first underwater restaurant, Manbo will replace the vessel floating off Yobukocho with a new restaurant boat and undergo a full renovation. It will reopen on 16 November 2026.
The new restaurant boat's underwater dining-area windows are scheduled to be expanded to approximately 3 times their previous size, giving guests a wider view of the underwater scenery. Once the renovation is complete, services will begin under a new operating structure.
