Tohoku Electric Power Network announced that it will apply its policy of raising wheeling charges, which are fees for using the transmission network, from November. The increase covers low-voltage and high-voltage power, as well as categories subject to increases introduced previously.
For a household Metered Lighting B plan with a contracted current of 30 amperes and monthly consumption of 260 kWh, the bill will rise by ¥485 from ¥8,204 to ¥8,689.
A Tohoku Electric Network representative said the company would work on proposals for efficient electricity use to help reduce the burden on customers. The company had previously announced wheeling charge increases by passing on rising equipment maintenance costs.
