This week's Large-Scale Retail Store Location Act bulletin reported new store plans in Ikoma, Nara Prefecture, Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, Hakata Ward in Fukuoka and Yamato-Takada, with 4 filings confirmed on municipal websites and other sources. VALOR HOLDINGS CO.,LTD. and Kohnan Shoji announced their capital and business alliance in June 2026 and are pursuing joint store openings that draw on the strengths of food supermarkets and home centers.
The plan attracting attention is the Ikoma Ichibu commercial facility. The planned site is in Ichibu-cho, Ikoma, the total store area is 4,752 m², and the new establishment date is set for 18 May 2027. Both companies are listed as the retail operators and building installers.
In the Chubu area, Edion plans to open the provisionally named Edion Takaoka store in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. The store will have an area of 3,500 m² and a new establishment date of 31 May 2027. A large-scale mixed-use facility at Fukuoka Airport's domestic terminal is also listed as a new development plan, with an area of 7,834 m² and a new establishment date of 15 July 2027. In addition to the Nara store, Cosmos Pharmaceutical plans to open a new drugstore in Nara Prefecture.
