Mizuno has announced the MIZUNO NEO IMPACT golf shoe series. Incorporating technologies from other sports, the shoes launch from 4 September, with Sayaka Teraoka (寺岡沙弥香), Seiichi Uchikawa (内川聖一) and Saori Sakoda (迫田さおり) appearing at the launch event.
Mizuno revealed at the launch that it had adopted a baseball-derived data analysis method, the “Data Shower Sole Concept,” in the sole design. The method analyzes the force exerted on the soles of the feet during the swing in 1/300-second increments, enabling stud placement to be optimized for each phase of the motion.
The company has also incorporated Mizuno Enerzy, a highly resilient material that supports powerful jumping in volleyball, after re-optimizing it for golf.
In the second part of the launch event, Mizuno brand ambassador and professional golfer Sayaka Teraoka (寺岡沙弥香), former professional baseball player Seiichi Uchikawa (内川聖一) and former Japan national volleyball team player Saori Sakoda (迫田さおり) took the stage. Each shared their thoughts on the question, “What is a shoe?” and discussed how the shoes felt in actual use. Sayaka Teraoka (寺岡沙弥香) spoke about the importance of gripping the ground, Seiichi Uchikawa (内川聖一) emphasized the importance of a stable foundation, and Saori Sakoda (迫田さおり) discussed the importance of support underfoot.
The product lineup introduced comprised the MIZUNO NEO IMPACT + ENERZY BOA (standard model, 3E) / Wide (4E) and the MIZUNO NEO IMPACT ENERZY BOA. The shoes have an open price, while the official Mizuno online price is ¥21,450. The pre-tax price is ¥19,500, sizes range from 24.5 cm to 29.0 cm, and width options are available for men and women. Multiple colors are offered, and upper materials include artificial leather and synthetic fibers.
