The 51 people scheduled to join Kameda Seika in FY2026 as new employees harvested rice at 合同会社ナイスライスファーム, which is based in Agano, Niigata Prefecture. As part of their new-employee training, the participants worked on agricultural operations at a business funded by the company. The variety they cut and harvested was Akiakane.
Nice Rice Farm was established in 2025. In 2026, it plans to plant 8 varieties across approximately 43.4 hectares and expects to harvest approximately 235 tons. The rice harvesting conducted this time also served as practical experience in the planting and harvesting operations underlying this plan.
The company is conducting trial cultivation in part of its operations using dry direct seeding, in which seeds are sown directly into fields without flooding them. It is continuing to assess planting methods for future use.
Kameda Seika President Takagi Masanori (高木 政紀) said that he places importance on the connection between rice cultivation in Niigata and the company, and that employees need opportunities to experience its roots firsthand.
