Hitachi, Ltd. announced a policy of transferring its white-goods business to a new company and selling an 80% stake in it to Nojima Corporation for approximately ¥110 billion. The sale is expected to be completed during the fiscal year ending March 2027.
Hitachi announced that it would transfer its white-goods business to a new company and outlined plans to sell an 80% stake to an outside party. The sale price is expected to be approximately ¥110 billion, with business partner Nojima Corporation identified as the buyer.
Executive Vice President Amitani Noriharu (網谷憲晴) explained the decision by saying, “Rather than being based on economic rationality, it was the result of examining the best position and making a decision.” This indicated Hitachi’s intent to pursue the optimal business position through the streamlining and restructuring of its white-goods business.
The move is positioned as part of Hitachi’s long-term review of its business portfolio, with the apparent aim of restructuring its capital and businesses while maintaining the strength of its established brands.
