Socionext raised its full-year forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, increasing revenue to ¥225 billion and operating profit to ¥15.5 billion. The forecast assumes an exchange rate of ¥130 per US dollar. Revenue is expected to have been boosted by the weaker yen.
Following the announcement of its results for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, Socionext raised its full-year earnings forecast, setting revenue at ¥225 billion and operating profit at ¥15.5 billion. Revenue is expected to rise 12.0% year on year and operating profit 25.5%.
The weaker yen in the actual exchange rate during the first half was cited as a factor that boosted revenue. Second-half revenue may exceed the previous forecast due to the contribution from new mass-produced products for North American automotive applications and data centers. The assumed exchange rate is ¥130 per US dollar.
September interim-period revenue was ¥99.423 billion and operating profit was ¥1.668 billion. Although the product gross margin declined due to changes in the product mix, increased prototyping and development investment associated with the launch of new mass-produced products weighed on results.
