It has emerged that Team Mirai secretary-general Takayama Satoshi (高山聡史) will change. Aoi Furukawa (古川あおい), the party's policy research council chair, will become the new secretary-general. The announcement was made during an online broadcast for party members on 16 September.
Reporting by Weekly Bunshun has revealed that Takayama Satoshi (高山聡史), 39, secretary-general of the political party Team Mirai, will change, with policy research council chair Aoi Furukawa (古川あおい), 35, expected to become the new secretary-general. The announcement was made through the party's official broadcast.
Takayama Satoshi (高山聡史) was a founding member of Team Mirai and has worked as the "right-hand man" supporting party leader Anno Takahiro (安野貴博). However, he was also reported to have clashed with Anno Takahiro (安野貴博) in discussions over the proposed criminalisation of flag desecration, and concerns within the party have been raised in recent years.
The incoming secretary-general, Aoi Furukawa (古川あおい), is a second-generation lawmaker whose father is Yasushi Furukawa (古川康), a former Liberal Democratic Party member of the House of Representatives. After graduating from Kurume University Affiliated High School, she studied at the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Law and Graduate School of Public Policy before joining the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and later studied at the University of California, Berkeley School of Information. She has been described as having experience in government administration and technology.
Regarding Aoi Furukawa (古川あおい), the party explained that it aims to actively promote the rotation of executive positions and eliminate dependence on individuals. It said that its basic stance of making case-by-case judgments on each policy, supporting or opposing proposals on their merits, will not change, and that executive appointments will also be made from the perspective of embodying the party's values.
