Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, and Japan Post Group collaborated to hold the in-person event “Takaoka Night” on 11 September 2026 (Friday) at POSTUDIO on the first floor of NEWoMan Takanawa in Tokyo, offering participants an opportunity to experience Toyama’s food and way of life. Applications nearly exceeded capacity, and the event was organised as part of a series of activities linked to an online initiative.
The event drew more actual attendees than the capacity of 30, and the participation rate on the day was 93% of applicants. This confirmed that interest generated online led to actual attendance. At the venue, presentations were given on Takaoka’s ingredients and producers, and guests spoke about the appeal of Takaoka’s people and way of life.
The second half featured table discussions on 4 themes: “Connecting with people,” “Working,” “Living” and “Enjoying.” Speakers, Takaoka City officials and the head of a local post office also took part. Options for Takaoka experience tours and workations were presented, while informal networking and business card exchanges were also active.
As a linked initiative, the event was held as a continuation of the connection with the online seminar “Local Jobs: Honest Talk Salon #12,” held on 2 September 2026. Online applications reached a final total of 75, including approximately 56 in-person participants.
