The 71st China (Guangzhou) International Beauty Expo (CIBE), a Chinese beauty industry trade fair, was held in Guangzhou, with more than 3,800 companies and brands from China and overseas exhibiting during the event. Exhibits covered a broad range of products, including cosmetics raw materials, contract manufacturing and packaging materials in the supply chain sector; nail and eyelash-related products; daily necessities and cosmetics; health-related products; and cross-border e-commerce and overseas expansion. New products and advanced technologies were also showcased.
More than 20 special exhibition areas were set up at the venue, with exhibits organised around the themes of manufacturing, product development, market sectors and consumer scenarios. In cooperation with Douyin's e-commerce business, the Douyin E-commerce Beauty Livestream Festival was also held, with a dedicated livestream commerce area and multiple livestreaming hubs established. More than 50 forums and related events were held during the expo, bringing together more than 1,000 industry participants to share information and exchange views.
JETRO introduced comments from visitors gathered through interviews, including that the use of technology in the beauty sector had become a major trend and that equipment was taking over more tasks previously performed manually. It also reported feedback that the forums held at the expo were more specialised than in the past.
