Kawaguchi City has entered into an agreement with Saitama Resona Bank, Musashino Bank, and Saitama Ken Shinkin Bank concerning community monitoring activities. The agreement will strengthen community coordination to detect signs of unusual circumstances affecting elderly people and others requiring support at an early stage and connect them with appropriate assistance.
On Monday, 28 September 2026, Kawaguchi City entered into an agreement with Saitama Resona Bank, Musashino Bank, and Saitama Ken Shinkin Bank concerning community monitoring activities. The agreement is intended to enable financial institutions in the community and the city to work together, using small signs noticed at service counters and during visits to identify unusual circumstances affecting elderly people and others at an early stage and connect them with the support they need.
The branch managers of each financial institution attended the agreement-signing ceremony and expressed their intention to actively promote community monitoring activities, making use of their daily interactions as financial institutions rooted in the community. During the informal discussion, examples of community-focused initiatives, including customer service at counters and fraud prevention at ATMs, were presented, and the participants shared a policy of deepening their cooperation going forward.
Future initiatives are expected to focus on the agreement's two pillars: (1) involvement in community monitoring activities, and (2) other matters necessary to achieve the objectives of the agreement. Information on future initiatives will also be disseminated using explanatory diagrams.
