Pet Fair Asia 2026, one of Asia’s largest pet products trade fairs, was held from 19 to 23 August at SNIEC in Shanghai, China. The venue covered 320,000 square meters and attracted more than 400,000 visitors from 40 countries and regions.
JETRO, a Japanese government-related organization, established a Japan booth at the venue and supported the participation of 31 Japanese companies. The companies promoted their high-quality management and safety standards, as well as products and services tailored to pet owners’ needs, with the aim of expanding sales channels in the Chinese and broader Asian markets.
Exhibitors reported concluding business discussions with buyers from regions outside China and said they experienced higher visitor numbers than the previous year. The pavilions representing individual countries and regions also featured distinctive exhibits that reflected their respective strengths.
As data supporting the growth outlook for the Chinese market, a market report by 北京派読科技 was cited. The report indicated that pet-related spending in urban China continues to expand, and suggested that demand for food for senior pets and care-related products could continue to grow. The Japan booth included 17 companies that had also participated the previous year.
