アウトライン has unveiled ICHIMATSU, combining an ichimatsu checkered pattern with wedge-shaped indices. The 36mm automatic mechanical watch features a design inspired by Japanese aesthetics, with early-bird orders now open on WATCH Makers from the ¥60,000 range.
Amid a movement to incorporate distinctly Japanese elements into the designs of watches from Japanese brands, アウトライン has announced ICHIMATSU. The watch uses an ichimatsu checkered pattern as a dial decoration and incorporates wedge-shaped indices, creating what is described as a “chic Japanese vintage” style.
ICHIMATSU follows the antique style of the 1940s to 1970s while prioritising modern quality. It features a 36mm case, 5 ATM water resistance and an automatic winding mechanism using the Miyota 9039 movement.
The watch is now available on WATCH Makers, a crowdfunding platform. Its list price is ¥88,000, while early-bird orders start in the ¥60,000 range. The case is compact and designed to pair easily with a suit.
