Kyowa Seisakusho’s European base, Kyowa Europe, built a new factory in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and held an opening ceremony on 16 July. The Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria, President Fujimoto (藤本), and others attended the ceremony.
The company develops and sells in-house motorized rollers and control systems for conveying and logistics applications under the PULSEROLLER brand. It has production sites in Japan and the United States. In the European and Middle Eastern markets, its strengths are said to include customer-specific customization and rapid technical support.
The new factory aims to achieve twice the previous level of production efficiency, while Sofia’s location is expected to support expanded supply to Europe and the Middle East. The company also explained that it selected Bulgaria for the combination of logistical convenience within the EU, highly skilled personnel and a low corporate tax rate.
The expansion is being described as part of the company’s efforts to accelerate its business development in the European and Middle Eastern markets.
