Chinese AI company Manus has announced its independence from US-based Meta. The decision is seen as consistent with the Chinese government’s policy of not approving the acquisition amid concerns over technology outflows to the United States.
On the 11th, Manus announced that it would become independent from US-based Meta, which had acquired the company. The move has been noted as consistent with the Chinese government’s statement in April that it would not approve Meta’s acquisition.
Meta announced the acquisition of Manus last year. The deal was reportedly valued at around $2 billion (approximately ¥320 billion).
Manus was founded in China and reportedly moved its base to Singapore last year.
