The Kagawa Prefecture power development company announced that Shikoku Electric Power had raised its full-year consolidated earnings forecast, with net income expected to be a profit of ¥37.5 billion.
Shikoku Electric Power raised its full-year consolidated earnings forecast for fiscal 2026, indicating that final net income is expected to be a profit of ¥37.5 billion, up ¥7.5 billion from the previous forecast. The improvement in earnings resulting from a review of transmission and distribution network usage charges to reflect rising prices was cited as a contributing factor.
For the second quarter of fiscal 2026, covering April–September, revenue rose 8.9% year on year to ¥419.1 billion, while net income fell 18.1% to ¥40.6 billion. Wholesale electricity sales revenue increased as the volume of electricity sold and selling prices rose, but higher fuel costs, external power procurement costs and thermal power generation costs weighed on profit.
President Miyamoto Yoshihiro (宮本喜弘) cited fluctuations in fuel prices caused by international conditions and currency movements as risks. He said that the business environment remained challenging and indicated that the company would seek to steadily achieve its full-year targets.
