Pocky has been appointed official ambassador for the indie games section of Tokyo Game Show 2026 for the fifth consecutive year. In addition, 8 finalists for SOWN2026 have been selected, and 8 SELECTED INDIE 80 Excellence Awards-winning games will be announced. The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association announced that Pocky, a game streamer, will serve as the official ambassador for the indie games section of Tokyo Game Show 2026 for the fifth consecutive year. As part of the appointment, Pocky is also scheduled to serve as a judge for SOWN2026, with plans including the release of gameplay videos featuring the winning games.
SOWN2026 will feature presentations by indie game developers, and 8 finalist games have been selected. In addition, 8 winners of the Excellence Awards, which recognize creativity and quality of execution, have been announced as part of SELECTED INDIE 80.
The official SELECTED INDIE 80 website went live on 10 August 2026 and features 79 games from Japan and overseas. Information was also provided on related events, including a card collection linked to the playable-demo program, free distribution of the official guidebook, and an illustration challenge.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, 18 September, the second Business Day, and exhibiting and sponsoring companies were also introduced.
