Komatsu Matere, a chemical materials manufacturer based in Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture, has developed a packable jacket featuring DANTOTSU Water Repellent CZ, a highly durable water-repellent material. Water droplets bead on the fabric surface and roll off easily, while the material makes it difficult for droplets to remain on the fabric when the garment is tilted. Its durability is characterized by the ability to retain water repellency after household washing.
The product combines water repellency with wind resistance, breathability and light weight, and is designed for all-weather use when going out in sudden rain or wind. It can be packed down to approximately the size of a person's palm and is expected to be offered in sizes M, approximately 65g, S, approximately 60g, L, approximately 68g, and XL, approximately 70g.
The fabric combines 10-denier and 30-denier yarns to balance light weight and strength. The construction has been improved to retain softness while maintaining water repellency, wind resistance and strength, and each garment is designed to be carefully finished individually.
Advance sales of the product will be conducted on Makuake, with plans for discounted packages against the regular retail price and pair-purchase plans for sets of 2 garments. Matere Trading will handle sales of the product for Komatsu Matere.
