KANDENKO is working with NEC to develop its data infrastructure and standardize and automate report preparation. By strengthening visualization through the BI tool MotionBoard, the company is accelerating analysis and decision-making.
KANDENKO has positioned data-driven management as a pillar of its medium-term management plan and is advancing initiatives built around 3 core areas: data infrastructure development, AI utilization and human resources development. The company aims to improve the quality and speed of decision-making with a view to the future by creating an environment in which operational sites and management can refer to the same data.
A challenge for the cost management function was that the preparation of reports compiling materials and subcontracting costs for each construction project had become dependent on individual employees. The large number of reports also created a substantial workload. The objective was therefore to work with NEC to standardize and improve the efficiency of report preparation.
KANDENKO used MotionBoard as its primary platform to bring data together and build dashboards, automating the Excel-dependent preparation process. Personnel at operational sites can now check the dashboards directly, reducing the work involved in sending files to relevant parties and other related tasks.
Going forward, KANDENKO is considering more advanced data utilization, including the use of AI. The company is examining the potential for AI to support the detection of signs of declining profitability and the analysis of contributing factors. By identifying risk factors by type of construction project, it aims to improve the precision of decision-making.
