Canon cut its full-year forecast for the fiscal year ending December 2026. Delayed normalization of production in the Medical business means revenue, operating profit and net profit are now expected to come in below the previous forecasts.
Canon cut its full-year forecast for the fiscal year ending December 2026. The new revenue forecast was lowered from ¥4.8 trillion to ¥4.766 trillion, operating profit from ¥465.0 billion to ¥456.0 billion, and net profit from ¥340.0 billion to ¥333.0 billion.
Normalization of production in the Medical Business Unit, previously expected in September this year, is now expected from next year onward. The projected impact on revenue consequently worsened from approximately ¥45.0 billion to ¥90.0 billion.
Tight supply and demand for boards and components amid AI-related demand is also contributing to the delay. Actual results for January through September were revenue of ¥3,433.357 billion, operating profit of ¥327.684 billion and net profit of ¥246.4909 billion.
Improvement in the Printing Business Unit progressed steadily through September, while the Imaging Business Unit, centered on network cameras, achieved substantial increases in revenue and profit.
