TDK has developed the MLJ1608WGC1R2MTD25 multilayer inductor for automotive PoC applications and will begin mass production in October 2026. It delivers high impedance across frequencies up to 2 GHz, improving impedance characteristics compared with the previous product. Based on the 1608 size standard, it is designed for PoC transmission in automotive cameras.
TDK announced that it has developed the MLJ1608WGC1R2MTD25 multilayer inductor for automotive PoC applications and will begin mass production as a commercial product in October 2026. Measuring L1.6 mm × W0.8 mm × H0.8 mm, the product is intended for use in broadband filters for PoC transmission.
Through proprietary materials and structural design, the new product achieves 1.25 μH, compared with 0.56 μH for the previous product. It provides high impedance across the 300 MHz to 2 GHz high-frequency band. From 100 to 700 MHz, its impedance is 1.7 to 2 times that of the previous product, improving noise suppression and filter performance.
Because of the characteristics of PoC transmission, the product helps reduce the number of wires required to connect multiple sensors, such as automotive cameras, with an ECU. The sample price is ¥40 before tax. Production will be based in Japan, with initial production capacity expected to be 10 million units per month, and mass production scheduled to begin in October 2026.
