IndexBox forecasts that the global semiconductor gas market will see expanding demand through 2035, with new fab construction and advanced-node ramp-ups, particularly in Asia-Pacific, driving growth.
The global semiconductor gas market is expected to see rising demand for high-purity gases as capital investment expands and process nodes transition, with analysis pointing to growth through 2035. The core drivers of demand are new fab construction, increased wafer starts and process-node transitions, with Asia-Pacific expected to have the greatest influence.
The market is forecast to grow at an annual rate of approximately 5.2% through 2035, reaching an index of approximately 165 in 2035, with 2025 set at 100. Asia-Pacific is expected to retain the largest share of consumption, supported by established clusters in Taiwan, South Korea, China and Japan, as well as new production capacity in Southeast Asia. In North America and Europe, government incentives and the start-up of new fabs are expected to lead to upside growth, while the demand mix between bulk gases and specialty gases is expected to change.
In the market structure as of 2035, bulk and specialty gases for wafer manufacturing will account for the largest share of demand, while requirements for high-purity gases will increase across segments including etching and cleaning, ALD/CVD, doping and lithography. Supply-chain resilience, onsite generation and recycling will become increasingly important. By region, market shares are estimated at 55% for APAC, 18% for North America and 12% for Europe.
