Canadian drone company ZenaTech opened its Japan Branch in April 2026 and began offering the manufacture and sale of AI-powered autonomous drones for industrial applications, along with DaaS (Drone as a Service). The company aims to improve efficiency across a range of industries, including agriculture, defense and logistics.
ZenaTech has introduced aircraft including the ZenaDrone 1000. The 1000 features power management, emergency backup systems and a landing parachute to enhance safety, and is equipped with smart sensors for non-destructive testing. The company is preparing an application seeking Blue UAS certification.
The ZenaDrone IQ QUAD is a medium-sized quadcopter for construction and surveying, with a carbon-fiber body, high-performance sensors and AI-enabled autonomous flight. IQ SQUARE is suited to outdoor inspections and surveying and can receive power and transmit data through a tether cable. IQ NANO is a compact model suited to management and monitoring in indoor warehouses and other facilities, and supports similar applications.
Going forward, the company plans to advance product development centered on DaaS offerings using its current aircraft. In the defense sector, it plans to promote the development of an autonomous maritime drone launch-and-recovery platform and the Interceptor P-1, an interceptor aircraft with VTOL capability.
