Dollar-yuan is trading in the mid-6.71 range, rising under the influence of dollar strength against a backdrop of last week's high levels. Against the yen, the Chinese yuan rose and then underwent a correction as the yen weakened, with the latest dollar-yuan and yen-yuan rates reported.
Dollar-yuan is trading at around 6.7150. After reaching 6.6951 on the 21st of last week, it rose on dollar strength and remained in the strong-dollar range at the start of the new week.
Against the yen, it rose from 22.788 on the 8th in line with yen weakness, reaching 23.688 on Thursday. It subsequently corrected to the 23.xx range toward the weekend amid efforts by Japan and the United States to restrain yen weakness.
