SwitchBot has published a guide for Apple Home compatibility in Japan. It explains how curtains and existing air-conditioner units can be controlled via Siri or the Home app through a Matter-compatible hub, with examples of how to use them in different rooms.
SwitchBot published a dedicated page on 16 October 2026 covering Apple Home compatibility in Japan. Following Apple’s announcement of new home-related products at its 13 October event, the company says it has brought together information on compatible devices, connection requirements and room-by-room usage in one place.
The dedicated page sets out which products are compatible with Home, whether a hub is required and how to use them in different rooms. It explains that curtains and appliances operated by existing infrared remotes can also be controlled from the iPhone Home app or via Siri through a SwitchBot Matter-compatible hub.
Examples of voice control via Siri include saying “Hey Siri, turn on the living-room air purifier” to operate a Matter-compatible air purifier, and starting the S10 robot vacuum from the Home app. The system also supports functions such as pausing, specifying a room and returning the vacuum to its charging dock.
Air conditioners and televisions operated by infrared remotes can be added to the Home app through a SwitchBot Matter-compatible hub. However, integration with infrared-controlled appliances is currently offered as a beta feature through Labs, and users are cautioned that the compatible models and range of available controls are limited. Integration with the Temperature and Humidity Meter Pro and Lock Ultra is also covered.
