An employee responsible for new graduate recruitment and company-wide training in Goldwin’s Strategic Human Resources Division discusses the current volume of approximately 1,000 entry sheets and the company’s talent development initiatives.
The staff member responsible, who belongs to the Career Development Group in the Strategic Human Resources Division, has been in charge of company-wide training and new graduate recruitment since this fiscal year. Recruitment brings in approximately 1,000 entry sheets, but rather than treating the process as mere screening, the staff member approaches every application with a strong sense of responsibility, recognising that they are involved in decisions that can affect someone’s entire life.
Earlier in their career, they aspired to become an English teacher and obtained a teaching license. Through part-time work at a foreign-affiliated apparel company, they came to understand the importance of leaders and colleagues and chose to pursue a career as an employee. They joined Goldwin when the Allbirds business was transferred, explaining that they hoped eventually to contribute to company-wide talent development, and were assigned to the human resources department the following fiscal year.
Although their points of contact differed between their time in stores and their current role, the foundation of education has remained the same. They cite watching new employees grow through training, and later being told that something they said at the time became a source of support, as a rewarding aspect of the work. Going forward, they are expected to take on the design of training programs for a broad range of employees.
As their recommended item, they cite the THE NORTH FACE × HYKE GORE-TEX Cap, which they treasure despite having received it from a senior colleague. They say they usually prefer simple, mode-inspired outfits.
