Tanaka Keita (田中慶太), representative director of ヴァンガードスミス, will publish his book The Truth About Neighborhood Disputes through Toyo Keizai Inc. on 28 October 2026. Pre-orders will open at bookstores and online bookstores nationwide.
Drawing on Tanaka’s experience as a police officer, the book explains the difficulties of responding to disputes at the “below-crime” stage, before they become criminal cases, as well as the mechanisms of emotion.
The book’s main topics include “emotional pollution,” the idea that the essence of neighborhood disputes lies not in noise but in emotion; the 4 stages through which anger escalates; the prisoner’s dilemma and the need for third-party intervention; and the latest cases from the digital age. The cover also features an endorsement from Inoue Kosei (井上康生).
The book’s bibliographic information includes a list price of ¥1,870, 46-format binding, 218 pages, and its ISBN. A special interview article on note, discussing the behind-the-scenes story of the book’s production, has also been published. Information on how to pre-order or purchase the book at bookstores and online is provided as well.
