日本グッドイヤー announced its next-generation EfficientGrip ECO EG03 tire, retaining the core performance of the previous EG02 model while improving service life, quietness and dry and wet braking performance. The range covers a wide variety of vehicles, from kei cars to SUVs, and is scheduled to comprise 38 sizes.
The new product uses tread-life technology to increase the volume of wear-resistant rubber through optimization of the cavity shape and groove width, achieving a 27% improvement in wear resistance versus the previous model. Its noise-reduction design cuts pattern noise by 22% and road noise by 15%.
A new compound and optimized longitudinal grooves improve dry braking performance by 4% and wet braking performance by 9%, respectively. The launch schedule will expand the range to all 38 sizes, with 3 sizes in June 2026, 1 size in July, 11 sizes in August and 23 sizes in September. Rim diameters from 13 to 16 inches are covered.
