Yamato Transport is rolling out its confidential document recycling service ECOBox nationwide for individuals. Two new sizes are being launched across Japan excluding Okinawa, with dedicated box purchases and collection and dissolution processing services available.
On 5 October, Yamato Transport began offering its confidential document recycling service “ECOBox” to individuals and launched it nationwide. Two new sizes, A4 Regular and A4 Slim, are available. Dedicated boxes can be purchased at sales offices, and those ordered online will be delivered. Dissolution processing is available on request for collection or through drop-off.
The dedicated kit costs ¥1,540 including tax for Regular and ¥990 including tax for Slim, with a separate dissolution processing fee charged when the box is collected. The dissolution processing fee is ¥1,320 for Regular and ¥770 for Slim. The service is available without a contract, with boxes sold individually.
The service was initially offered under corporate contracts following the enforcement of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information in 2005. Demand for document processing at home has since grown with the spread of teleworking and increasing needs among individuals. In June 2026, advance sales for individuals began in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and coverage is being expanded in response to requests for a nationwide rollout.
A campaign is also being held to give purchasers of ECOBox dedicated kits a clear file featuring a collaboration with Hello Kitty.
