Taiwan’s Administration of Digital Industries, Ministry of Digital Affairs, facilitated exchanges between 8 Taiwanese companies that visited Japan from 17 to 21 August and Japanese companies. Meetings with host companies provided opportunities to explore concrete partnerships in fields including AI, DX, smart retail, tourism and supply chains, with the aim of deepening industrial cooperation between Japan and Taiwan.
The partnership between 騰雲科技 and ITEC, an IT systems company under the 阪急阪神 Group, was at the centre of the visit. The two companies signed a memorandum of partnership to accelerate the introduction of AI and DX for department stores, shopping malls and retailers. By combining their respective technological capabilities with experience in Japan’s distribution industry, they aim to develop opportunities for concrete collaboration.
The Taiwanese companies visiting Japan have track records in the Japanese market. KKday presented its travel-related e-commerce business, 威朋大數據 its use of tourism data, 睿控網安 its efforts to strengthen OT and critical infrastructure protection, and 運籌網通 its initiatives to improve smart logistics and supply chains, among others, addressing local needs in their respective fields.
The Administration of Digital Industries indicated that it would continue to deepen industrial cooperation between Japan and Taiwan. Through one-to-one business-matching sessions in Tokyo and information sharing at Japan-Taiwan innovation forums, it aims to expand opportunities for joint development leveraging AI and DX.
