Kanagawa Prefecture will provide information on the Me-Byo Index at approximately 300 クリエイト pharmacies across the prefecture, expand the number of stores with measurement terminals to 4 in September, and promote awareness through health consultation sessions and the use of coloring sheets.
The prefecture will use the Me-Byo Index, focusing on older people and working-age adults, to make pre-disease conditions more visible, and will work with クリエイト pharmacies to provide information on the Me-Byo Index, including cognitive-function assessments.
From 14 to 19 September, information on the Me-Byo Index will be provided at 298 prescription-dispensing stores across the prefecture, with pharmacists promoting the visualization of pre-disease conditions, including cognitive function. Information will also be provided through the company's official website.
From 14 September, Me-Byo Index measurement terminals will be permanently installed at 4 stores at prescription-dispensing counters. Pharmacists will provide information when giving medication guidance and offer advice on improving pre-disease conditions based on the measurement results. From November, stamp rallies and other initiatives will encourage continued measurement.
At health consultation sessions scheduled to begin in October, information on the Me-Byo Index will be provided. In addition to approximately 350 health consultation sessions annually, approximately 30 annual sessions focused on Me-Byo Index measurement will be held.
The company plans to promote awareness of the Me-Byo Index at 444 stores across the prefecture using coloring sheets for children, with the aim of encouraging interest among families.
The Me-Byo Index assesses 4 areas, lifestyle habits, daily functioning, mental health and cognitive function, on a 3-level scale and can be measured using smartphones and other devices. For cognitive-function measurement, the system implements a testing method incorporating the Mini-Cog.
