OKI announced plans to recruit 668 volunteers for early retirement in the current fiscal year and record approximately ¥10 billion as an extraordinary loss. Approval by the JFTC of the integration of ATM production with Hitachi was also reported, advancing the collaboration.
Oki Electric Industry disclosed that 668 employees applied for voluntary retirement in the August–September recruitment drive across the Group, and that it expects to record approximately ¥10 billion in extraordinary losses for the fiscal year ending March 2027, mainly for special retirement payments and related costs. The eligible employees represent approximately 6% of the Group's workforce, and their retirement date is set for 31 October. The company said it would not revise its consolidated earnings forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027.
The eligibility criteria and number of applicants for the retirement program, as well as the timing of the loss recognition, were disclosed, drawing attention to the impact on future performance. OKI is continuing to develop businesses related to the Takaichi growth strategy while disclosing the financial impact of the extraordinary loss.
The JFTC's approval of the integration of ATM production with Hitachi was reported, and manufacturing of cash-dispensing units is expected to be completed by a single company in Japan. The ATM integration may affect future developments as part of the reorganisation and restructuring of the business.
