リアルゲイト announced that it will renovate a 35-year-old building in Nakameguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo, and open FATHOM (Fathom), a mixed-use complex centered on retail, office and SOHO spaces, in November. The nearest stations are Nakameguro, Daikanyama and Ebisu, each approximately an 8- to 10-minute walk away.
The facility will have a total floor area of 1,916 sq. m. and comprise three above-ground floors and one basement floor of reinforced-concrete construction, with a total of 19 rental units planned. The basement and first floors will contain retail units, the second floor will contain office units, and the third floor will contain SOHO units, with plans offering different unit sizes.
Retail units will range from approximately 20.44 to 39.15 sq. m., office units from 32.14 to 251.61 sq. m., and SOHO units from 48.67 to 124.12 sq. m. The facility will offer a range of sizes by use and adopt interior specifications including exposed ceilings, painted walls and ToughLeveler flooring, with startups and creative companies envisioned as tenants. Shared areas will include a lounge, meeting rooms and phone booths to support web conferences and meetings.
SOHO units will be designated for residential use, with the basement lounge envisioned for use as a corporate registered address. The name Fathom comes from a unit of water depth, reflecting the aim of creating a space where users can distance themselves from the shifting pace of the city and engage in deeper thought.
