As part of its construction DX initiatives, ウィルオブ・コンストラクション jointly developed the “BIM Skills Matrix” with PLUS.1 and Daiwa House Industry to visualise the skills of BIM talent. The proof-of-concept validation involved 7 people, including foreign-national employees employed by ウィルオブ・コンストラクション.
Against the backdrop of the growing adoption of BIM in the construction industry, ウィルオブ・コンストラクション, PLUS.1, and Daiwa House Industry jointly developed the “BIM Skills Matrix” to address shortages of BIM talent and skills mismatches. The matrix systematises the roles and skills of BIM talent and is intended to provide a foundation for appropriate matching with companies and career development support. The initiative aims to objectively link on-site requirements with the skills of available talent.
As part of the matrix’s development, level definitions were designed for each major BIM tool, and more than 100 questions were prepared to assess the skills required for construction planning, clash detection, data integration, model management, and other tasks. A pilot assessment was also conducted among 7 foreign-national employees of ウィルオブ・コンストラクション, confirming the matrix’s usefulness.
