ARTNATURE INC. provided wigs to 12 children playing students in the stage production “Friendship: A Cosmos Ballad” to support their character development. There are no hosting or speaking engagements involved. The production is scheduled for 23 August at Koto Ward Culture Center, 26 August at Toride Civic Hall, and 25 September to 3 October at Tsukiji Hongwanji Buddhist Hall. The production is based on a true story from the United States about friends supporting a girl who lost her hair as a side effect of leukaemia. It has been performed 576 times in Japan and overseas and has continued its long run for 18 years.
ARTNATURE INC. supports the production’s aim of promoting bone marrow donor registration and has continued providing wigs since the first performance in 1999. This article introduces the history of the company’s support for the production and its efforts to support children with hair-related concerns. Through the production, it is also expanding “Little Wing Works (LWW),” a social contribution initiative that provides free wigs to children with hair-related concerns.
